Friends Who Write isn't just a writing contest—it's a celebration of friendship, knowledge, and individual creativity. Over the course of a month, writers team up to hold each other accountable to weekly sprint deadlines. Submit 1,000 words or more on any topic, every Friday.

While your writing topics may differ, the goal is shared: encourage and support one another to cross the finish line. Along the way, engage with our vibrant community to expand your writers' circle, and learn from experienced writers to improve the craft of writing.

This challenge is about more than just the finished works—it's about fostering a collective spirit of perseverance, dedicating time to your craft, and forging lasting connections with fellow writers.

Consistency Prize

We’re championing the steady writers: consistency counts! Teams for which every member made a minimum of 3 weekly submissions are automatically entered into a draw to win $2,500 to share.

Territory Race

Admins of different Territories have signed their community up for a Territory Race this November (full list to be announced on 1 November). During this month, the top 3 Territories on t2 with the most Time Points (t.p.) will receive up to $1,500 in prizes. Prizes are automatically divided among all Territory members based on the amount of t.p. they individually generated within the winning Territory, in proportion to the total t.p. generated by all participants in that Territory over the race period.

  • First Place: $1,500
  • Second Place: $1,000
  • Third Place: $500

Individual Prizes

While you must join FWW as a member of a team, we are putting aside some prizes to reward individual excellence in writing.

New Writer Prize: $200 x4

The winners of this category are writers who join FWW for the first time and demonstrate value alignment with t2.

Winners are selected by the t2 team every week and announced at the Award Ceremony.

Storyteller Prize: $200 x4

The t2 team will select one winner each week, celebrating those who stand out for their originality, narrative depth, and storytelling craft. Winners are announced at the Award Ceremony.

There is no limitation on the categories of prizes you can win for each submission. So you could be rewarded for Consistency, Territory Race and individual prizes for the same submissions.
