Who can collect posts on t2?
Anyone can collect a post on t2. Make sure you have sufficient funds in your account prior to collecting a post.
What is a collectible post?
A collectible post is a digital collectible item that has a verified way of proving its owner. Like a unique trading card with a receipt, a collectible is a representation of the original that contains information about the owner and buyer.
For example:
- A trading card of LeBron James is the collectible representation, while LeBron James (the GOAT), is the original.
- A collectible post is a representation of the original post.
Why should I collect posts on t2?
While there are a wide variety of reasons, the primary reasons to collect a post on t2 is to 1) support your favourite writers and, 2) accumulate a collection of your favourite posts on t2.
Collecting a post is a great way to show the writer that you appreciate them and their writing directly by compensating them. In return, you’ll receive a digital collectible as a thank you for supporting their work.
Just like collecting books on a bookshelf, collecting posts on t2 is a great way to save your favourite articles. Whether it be short stories that strike you, helpful informational articles, or a personal blog, collected posts show that you spent time, energy, and intention with the post, appreciate the writer, and have proof to show for it.
How do I collect a post?
Head to the article you’d like to collect. Click the “collect” icon at the top of the page, or the button at the bottom of the article. Or even try it out on this post!
Confirm the price of the post and make sure you have enough funds in your account.
Click “Collect” and confirm your transaction by signing the message, or using a verification code sent to your email.
Once you’ve collected a post, you’ll be able to see it on your profile page under the “Collected” category.
Troubleshooting & FAQ
What happens if a error occurs?
Should you encounter any errors during the process of creating an asset, any funds that have been sent out from your account will be refunded. However, they will be refunded via ZoraETH.
My account is created with an email, how do I collect?
Users with email-based accounts can still collect posts! Make sure your wallet has enough funds to pay for transaction fees. Instead of being prompted with a message to sign via your wallet, you’ll receive and email with a one-time-code to verify your identity.
Can I resell the post I collected?
Yes! Once successfully collected, posts can be resold on any compatible marketplaces (e.g., Opensea).
Will the writer know that I collected?
Yes! The writer will receive an in-app notification that someone has collected their post on t2. However, if someone collects the post on a third-party platform (e.g., Zora, Orb), notifications will depend on that platform instead.
Do I own any rights to the articles I collected?
No. The writer still owns the rights to the collectible articles.
Will my collected articles show up on other platforms?
Yes. Collectible posts will show up on any other compatible platform, such as your wallet, or third-party marketplaces.
