In the t/TTRPG territory, we’re launching a gamified collective storytelling experiment! We invite you to join by creating a character you’d like to play and suggesting a name for the story world. Each character submission will contribute to a world roster. When this prompt closes, character generation locks for Season 1 of the story. We will then collate submissions to identify commonalities and potential narrative links between characters to sow the seeds of a game world. The story and world will be built by the community and grow over time as player members contribute scenes and character vignettes. As such, the genre is currently undefined. Stories grow from characters. The characters that arise from the imagination of the community will populate the world; their uniqueness as individuals and a collective will drive narrative conventions such as genre tropes and world lore. To join, respond to this prompt (via the button below) with an idea for a character you’d be interested in inserting into a game world, plus your suggestion for a world name. Character Name: Something they’re good at: Something they are not good at: Physical description/distinctive features: Dramatic need: (One or two things the character REALLY wants but doesn’t have.) Significant backstory events: (Write as much or as little as you like, you can even leave this blank if you aren’t sure) World name entry: The winning world name entry will be determined by TP, with the character that accompanies the entry receiving a story-world benefit. More information on the concept will be revealed in an upcoming article on the t/TTRPG territory. Join us there! Hit the button below to respond to this prompt.
