A poetic reading meditation to overcome sleep deprivation - find yourself a quiet space or alternatively put on some headphones, and begin to read while being present with each word.

Give yourself permission,

To be open,

To embrace rest.

It seems so simple,

Yet often we forget,

Especially when sleep has eluded us.

But here,

In this moment,

Consciously,

With intention,

You allow yourself rest,

Welcoming the peace that unfolds.

You deserve this—

Rest,

And peace.

Notice your eyelids,

Heavy from the sleepless nights,

Feel that weight.

The sounds around you,

Like a blanket,

Envelop you in comfort,

Support,

Care.

Now, your breath.

Not controlled,

Not managed,

But simply felt.

This gentle breath nourishes,

Feeding your sleep-deprived body,

Each inhale a gift,

Each exhale a release.

Can you feel it?

The subtle shift,

Your body, nourished by breath,

Sinking deeper into rest.

Peace wraps around you,

Like a blanket,

Holding you.

And yes, the mind may stir,

Even now,

Pulling you from rest.

But when it does,

Remember your body,

Your breath,

And return.

Each breath,

A little deeper,

A little softer.

Let yourself sink,

Like into a comfortable bed,

Deeper into rest,

Deeper into peace.

Feel your body crave it,

Desire it.

And here,

You go deeper,

Or remain where you feel at ease,

At peace.

Stay here,

As long as you need,

As long as your body craves.

Rest is sacred,

And you deserve it.
