Solana was created in 2017 by a group of developers led by Anatoly Yakovenko. He worked at Qualcomm and wanted to solve the scalability problems of blockchains. The main idea was to create a high-performance blockchain with low latency and low fees.

In 2018, the first version of the network was released, and in 2020, Solana held a successful ICO, attracting significant investments. The project quickly attracted attention thanks to its Proof of History architecture, which allowed it to achieve high transaction processing speed. Solana soon began to be used for decentralized applications and NFTs, becoming one of the leading blockchain platforms.
