A little red hen found a grain of seed.
She asked the other animals, "Who will help me plant this seed?"The little cat said, "I don't want to!" The little dog said, "I'm too tired!"
Only the little red hen herself worked hard to plant the seed. The seed grew into a wheat plant. The little red hen asked, "Who will help me harvest the wheat?"
The little cat and the little dog still said, "I don't want to!"The little red hen harvested the wheat all by herself again. Finally, the wheat was made into bread.
The little red hen asked, "Who will help me eat the bread?"The little cat and the little dog immediately said, "I want to eat! I want to eat!"
The little red hen smiled and said,
"No, you didn't do anything, so you can't have the bread!"
