Microbes, our debut NFT collection, is a primary exploration of the original themes of DeSci; bringing the scientific community together with novel artistic, cultural and technical concepts.
We deployed the Microbes contract to Ethereum Mainnet over 3 years ago, on November 15th 2021. It was initially created to raise funds for "DeSciDAO"', the original name of DeSciWorld. You can read the launch article here.

If you havent seen our most recent article on Proof of Knowledge (PoK), please read it first for context.
Microbot is DeSciWorld's first official PoK-powered agent. It is a DeSci agent, informed by the DeSciWorld internal resources and the Microbes NFT holder community.
Access to Microbot is exclusive to Microbes NFT holders after verifying ownership via DeSciWorld's GuildXYZ.
What does Microbot do?
Microbot's is tasked with being a useful DeSci assistant for all the MicrobesDAO members. You can ask:
- DeSci project and ecosystem information
- Suggestions for research directions and collaborators
- DeSci token and investment considerations
- To play games and learn from each other in MicrobesDAO in a novel interactive format
Microbot will process your information, transmit any useful knowledge to the Proof of Knowledge data layer and transmit it to other agents in the PoK network.
Microbot's Treasury
Microbot is also an onchain fund management assistant. It has an onchain treasury that it can utilise by making onchain transactions. It can purchase, swap, stake and send assets connected to its wallet. We expect Microbot to use its collective knowledge to great effect.
The Microbot treasury is grown through donations, endowments and from the "Creator Earnings" income from the Microbes NFT secondary market sales on Opensea. This means 4% of any sales goes to Microbot's treasury, to be deployed into DeSci tokens, governed by Microbes NFT holders. 1% is reserved for strategic treasury.

Potential Allocations
As a Microbes NFT holder, there are multiple potential allocation streams
- Early Adopters: first 150 Microbes NFTs minted
- โ Creator Earnings: any secondary market sales that allow the 5% royalty fee will be earmarked for future incentives
- Contributors to Microbot's knowledge: For Microbot's intelligence to grow, it must be taught by the MicrobesDAO members. We will reward these earliest contributors to DeSciWorld's premier Proof of Knowledge agent.

Unique art; real research
Direct from the laboratories of Imperial College London, images collected from thousands of hours of research by PhD alumni form the foundation of this collection, based on genuine research by the young PhDs working on this project together.
Traits and Rarity
โMicrobesโ contains 999 heterogenous pieces of art in three core categories:
- 444 ๐งซ Bacteria
- 333 ๐ Funghi
- 222 ๐ฆ Bacteria
Alongside these three principle categories, there are also a number of traits that provide additional rarity distinctions for your NFT, such as:
- Biosafety Level (i.e. BSL1, BSL4)
- Movement (i.e. spin, burst)
- Assembly (i.e. particle, protein)
- Magnification (i.e. atomic, 63x)
These characteristics help to define each piece within the collection whilst also giving the viewer a deeper understanding of what analysis researchers use when interacting with their data.
