IRefuse To Give-up.
This is a story about one of my close friends. I will not mention his name mainly because most of our friends are present, and I do not want anyone to identify him by his story. All of us like him very much, so we always make fun of him. Recently, however, he has been under a lot of stress and feeling disheartened due to the actions of a few individuals. In our office he is like a young toddler boy whose behaviour make us both laugh and sympathize with him. Even after everything he is genuinely one of the nicest guy we’ve ever had in the privilege to work with.
The Root of His Stress
Life is full of detours, pitfalls, and experiences that test our resiliency to the utmost. It is when life gets overwhelming that temptation to give up on dreams and goals often overrides resolve. Yet, in those moments of choice-to persevere, not to give up-lies a testament to a person’s inner strength, courage, and hope. Not giving up is to persevere through adversity. It is not setbacks that make one a failure but a stepping stone to success. Everyone has bad days, and it’s the ones that keep moving forward despite them that truly achieve greatness. And this is what distinguishes between the ordinary and the great.
Lessons in Resilience
Every act of persistence makes one stronger, mentally and emotionally. Every experience has something to teach about oneself and the world in general that is truly worthy of being experienced. Such experiences make a person more creative, adaptive, and prepared for ups and downs in life. Once, I felt at my workplace that I stood first because of hard work and commitment. Later on, I realized perfection isn’t everything. The company we keep forms the base of our success or failure. We need supportive and understanding people around us-be that personal or professional life. Bad company however much hard we work will reduce our efforts to naught and embarrass us before others.
Problems are Blessings in Disguise
At times, problems in life make sense. God uses those times to teach us something important. Such moments provide us opportunities to learn from our mistakes and build ourselves anew, becoming much stronger than before. They remind us that falling is not the end but perhaps a rise, getting up and proving to oneself and others that one can get up again.
The Power of Perseverance
It is never easy not to give up. It only requires a little more patience, a bit of effort, and some sacrifice. But the payoff-personal growth, a feeling of accomplishment, and attaining our objectives-is beyond measurement. Perseverance does not mean forging forward with eyes shut but is essentially about sticking to one’s purpose while being flexible to adapt. Sometimes it needs redefining success or even trying something new. The persistence mentality sets us upright, upwards, and forwards after every defeat. Inner resilience in such situations gives a person strength to encounter those situations which could be critical or important.
Call to Action:
Let this be our attitude toward setbacks: get up. Let our setbacks be faced with determination and hope, knowing that every step forward brings us closer to our dreams. Refuse to give up, and one finds the journey itself will be as rewarding as the end.
So to my dear friend, and anyone else facing an adversary, remember that strength follows persistence. Keep moving forward success will follow.
