JD's Daily Writes 25 Nov 24
So, I’ve started to notice a bit of a struggle with my writing. Writing every day, around 500 words, is more challenging than I thought it would be, especially as I’ve set a precedent for writing creative pieces. That’s not what this challenge was meant to be, not solely.
I blame myself for that, as I prefer to write creatively. I have also found that I’ve been leaving the writing to the end of the day—late evenings. This is not when my brain is prepared to do creative work. I’m tired, and there’s the stress from the day. Add to that any chronic pain flare-ups and challenges with my son, and my brain is like, nope, fuck you, buddy. I’m tapping out.
So I’m going to switch back to mornings, either after the school drop-off or if I can get my ass out of bed early enough before my son is even awake. Let’s see how this reset goes.
Another aspect is that I’m not getting that much feedback. It’s not why I am doing this, but it would be nice to hear if you liked a piece or didn’t. There is no pressure, though. Lol.
If there’s something you read that you think you would like to read a lot more of, definitely let me know. I am open to exploring any of my writing to become larger pieces of work.
Seriously though, I’ve got 5 short stories pretty much completed for the next instalment of 10 short stories for Double Dare! The sequel to Do You Dare?
So if there's a short piece you would like to see expanded on. Hit me up.
One of my favourite reviews from Do You Dare?
