“The package on my doorstep had my name, but I definitely didn’t order it"

...............When the doorbell rang, Kanhaiya got up from the bed and opened the door. There was a big box outside the door , which was probably left by the postman. Looking at the box, Kanhaiya's forehead flushed.

Where did it come from? I didn't make any order. Who sent it? With these questions in mind, Kanhaiya goes ahead and lifts the box. It looked full.

With an unresolved frown on his forehead, Kanhaiya places the box on the table in the room. He then examines the box , which was labeled as government post. It seemed someone had sent it from registered post in a hurry. The address was correct, written in blurred letters.

Kanhaiya cuts the box label with a nearby knife and opens it. As soon as he opens it , he smells a familiar scent of laddus, bringing back memories after almost ten years . With this sweet scent, Kanhaiya recognizes that his mother sent the box .

Kanhaiya recalls the time he left his mother Meera in the village ten years ago after an argument and moved to the city alone . Despite having no one in the city, he stayed due to stubbornness.

Time had passed quickly . Kanhaiya didn't realize how fast ten years had gone by . Today , an unknown box brought back old memories and stirred his emotions .

With compassionate hands, Kanhaiya opens the box of laddus . He sees the same laddus he used to enjoy a decade ago. Kanhaiya picks up the box and sets it aside.

Underneath , there was a paper boat. It was the boat Kanhaiya had made in his childhood and played with in the rain .

Afterwards , Kanhaiya looks down in the box and sees an old black and white photo wrapped in paper. This is the last photo with his mother Meera. Seeing this, Kanhaiya remembers the things that , due to his stubbornness, he went to the city and made that photo.

Moving down in the box, Kanhaiya sees a cloth doll soaked in old dust. It was the same doll that his mother Meera had made for him and with which he used to play all day. Kanhaiya picks up the doll with his compassionate hands and looks at it with his humble eyes like a precious gem.

Then , he sees a letter at the bottom of the box. On seeing this, Kanhaiya's heartbeat becomes a bit restless.

Kanhaiya quickly picks up the letter with his restless mind and hands.

He quickly opens the letter. The letter was written with broken ink. Perhaps Meera had someone write it down. Kanhaiya reads the letter. It was written....

"Kanhaiya.... When will you come, my son? Don't you miss your mother? I've been waiting for you every moment for the last 10 years....I'm always waiting for you to come....I keep staring at the door every moment.... If there's the slightest knock at the door, I think you've arrived...But you didn't come..........

Now my old eyes are tired of waiting for you.........I can't wait any longer with these eyes...Now it's even less visible with these eyes........It's been more than a month and the fever doesn't go away. The whole body has become like dry wood…....Looks like it's time to go....If you want to see your mother's face for the last time, then come soon, otherwise you will never find your mother..!!"

Your mother "Meera"

When Kanhaiya read this letter from his mother, the ground slipped from under his feet. His throat went dry. And his heart was restless. He sweated all over his body. His heart yearned to meet his mother ......

He gets up quickly and puts on upright clothes in his haste. He quickly puts on his slippers while running and closes the door of his room and picks up the bag and runs towards the railway station.

In a short time , Kanhaiya reaches the railway station. He quickly buys the ticket and reaches the platform where the train is arriving .

Standing on the railway platform at that moment, Kanhaiya feels like a year has passed . He looks to the right, then to the left, then upwards , and finally backwards , thinking that the train should arrive from any direction for him to board quickly.

After a while, the train arrives and halts at the platform. Kanhaiya swiftly boards it and the train starts moving soon after.

After traveling for almost an entire day, the train stops at Kanhaiya's village station.

He quickly alights the train and runs towards his village carrying his bag.

Upon reaching the courtyard of his home via the uneven road, he notices that the entire courtyard is crowded with villagers.

Observing the gathered crowd in his home's courtyard , Kanhaiya's heart rate increases. He navigates through the people with his unsteady steps to reach inside the house.

However, upon seeing his mother lying on the ground covered in a white cloth at the center of the courtyard, Kanhaiya's heart sinks into a sea of sorrow .

His mother Meera has passed away . Kanhaiya approaches Meera with faltering steps and gazes at her motionless, pale face.

He sits on the ground, weeping and mourning, resting his desolate heart and sorrowful head on his mother's chest like a bereaved traveler... Two tears roll down from her closed eyes and trickle down her cheeks.

Lessons from the story:

(This story teaches us that we should never break the relationships that are timeless in our soul ; we should always keep those relationships together. If there is ever any pressure in life to strain those relationships, then they should not be broken and they should be given many chances, or we should forgive those people to whom we are connected in soul.

Because , if we break those relationships, then we cannot get rid of the pain that will be caused by their breakdown , and we are not able to get rid of that pain throughout our life.)
