Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3

Editor’s Note: It feels really essential that we share this in the book, but we simply can’t because it reveals too much about all of the different parties involved. It would literally shake the foundations of human civilization. Nonetheless, we feel compelled to write it and include it within our original manuscript which will be safely kept within the confines of Yamiyo and which will likely never be seen by human eyes in the ‘physical’ world.

The Shadowed Accord

In the far reaches of the Sahara desert, where the stars blaze like a thousand watchful eyes, the Dogon people dwell as watchers of the heavens. They hold secrets of the cosmos from long before humankind charted the skies. Their ancient stories speak of the Nommo, amphibious beings of great wisdom who came from a distant star system and brought the Dogon knowledge of harmony between the seen and unseen.

The Dogon believe the Nommo are mediators between the worlds of matter and spirit, light and shadow. They left behind celestial artifacts, including the Mirror of Shadows, a relic capable of revealing the hidden nature of existence. The Mirror is both a tool of enlightenment and a potential harbinger of destruction.

The Mirror of Shadows is a relic tied to the Nommo and carries their dual legacy: the promise of enlightenment and the peril of hubris. It exists as a gateway, linking realms of light, shadow, and the infinite cosmos. The Nommo’s teachings warned that the Mirror’s power could disrupt the delicate balance of the worlds.

The Sultanate of Baboob

To the north of the Dogon lands rose the secret and powerful Sultanate of Baboob, a sprawling hidden empire of wealth and ambition. Though the Sultanate revered the Dogon’s mystical wisdom, some within it sought to harness it for worldly gain. Legends say the Sultan of that age grew obsessed with the Mirror, believing it could grant dominion over all realms, physical and spiritual.

To prevent the Mirror’s misuse, the Dogon elders hid it, shielding it with powerful rituals learned from the Nommo. But as tensions between the two powers grew, a schism formed even within the Dogon themselves. A faction of disillusioned mystics sought to align with the Sultanate, believing the Mirror’s power should be wielded to control and shape the world rather than feared.

Baba Oobu and the Great Exodus

In this time of turmoil, Baba Oobu, a monk born of both Dogon blood and the Sultanate’s lineage, emerged as a unifier. He was said to be the child of a Dogon seer and a prince of Baboob, carrying within him the dual heritage of mysticism and power. Gifted in both celestial rites and earthly strategy, Baba Oobu attempted to create an alliance between the two cultures. He was entrusted with the secrets of the Mirror of Shadows.

As the schism deepened however, war loomed. Baba Oobu fled the Sultanate with the Mirror, vowing to safeguard it. Guided by visions of the Nommo, he carried the relic across vast deserts, oceans, and mountains, pursued by those who sought to reclaim it. His journey took him to the farthest corners of the known world, where he sought sanctuary for the Mirror and its terrible potential.

Arrival in Japan and the Founding of Tama no Michi

Baba Oobu’s journey ended on the storm-lashed shores of Hokkaido, where he was shipwrecked and found near death by the Ainu, the indigenous people of Northern Japan. Among the Ainu, Baba Oobu discovered a kindred spirituality—rituals honoring the supernatural spirits of nature, kami, and their deep connection to the natural and unseen worlds.

Sharing his Dogon and Nommo teachings, Baba Oobu blended his mystical and interstellar knowledge with the Ainu’s animistic traditions. Together, they forged the early tenets of Tama no Michi, a secret path of ‘magic’ (called magic only because the mechanisms that power it are not clearly laid out byt the knowledge brokers of the world) that balanced light and shadow, spirit and matter.

The Snow Lit Path is an esoteric code for the Path of Pearls - also known as Tama no Michi

The Mirror of Shadows was hidden deep within Yamiyo, the shadow mountains of the kami, sealed by powerful rituals to ensure its safety. Baba Oobu taught that the Mirror was not merely a tool but a test—its truths could guide those pure of heart or lead the ambitious into ruin. Eventually, however, he had to attempt to put it out of reach of those who might misuse it.

The Prophecy of Sand and Shadow

In addition to the Mirror of Shadows, the Dogon had also entrusted Baba Oobu with a scroll of prophecy before he left the African Continent. Inscribed in secret and guarded by those he most trusted, not men, but ancient beings:

"When seedlings vanish, groves wither in decay,A child of sand and shadow shall emerge.Born of starlight and earth,Guided by four,She shall awaken the dormant paths.Smoke, wings, and shadow will ascend the mountainWhere the Mirror of Eternal Dusk sings its song.

From its dark reflection, truth and ruin will spring.Beware the fracture of light,For balance teeters on its edge.

Is this dark mountain spring the Mirror of Shadows? Few have ever seen it and of those who have, not a word.

If the seedlings bloom anew,Harmony will rise from chaos. But if shadow overwhelms the root,Darkness shall reign without end."

The Mirror’s Cosmic Duality

The prophecy ties the Dogon, the Sultanate of Baboob, and the hidden paths of Tama no Michi together, converging in the fate of a single child. Descended from both the celestial wisdom of the Dogon and the earthly ambition of Baboob, this child is the key to restoring balance or unleashing chaos. For centuries in the world of men, she has been sought - for those who control her, may control the fate of the universe.
