The Tempest Beast, an enormous sea dragon, had awoken from its century-long slumber deep within the Abyssal Caverns. Angered that its sacred relic, the Trident of Waves, had been stolen, the Tempest Beast was summoning storms that threatened to destroy both the ocean and the land above.
Makimi’s heart raced. She knew she had to act quickly.
“The Trident of Waves must be returned,” she said to Lilo and Drift.
Lilo clicked in agreement, while Drift folded his claws, grumbling, “This is why I don’t do hero work. It’s dangerous!”

The dragon’s glowing eyes softened, and with a rumble that sounded like distant thunder, it took the trident in its claws.
“You have shown great courage, Guardian,” it said. “Call upon me if ever the ocean is in peril again.”
With a powerful sweep of its tail, the Tempest Beast vanished into the depths, leaving the waters calm and sparkling once more.
