(Rose- A Fictional Forbidden Romance Story)
Aarav worked as a professor in a university. One day as he arrived at the computer lab to teach a class, he noticed that the students were working on their computer projects, some were chatting, some checking their emails, and some just passing the time.
When the students realized thatAarav had entered the room, they became cautious. Everyone turned quickly to appear busy with their work.
Aarav glanced around at the class, assessed the atmosphere, and told the children, "Students, do your work well, but quietly."
After hearing Aarav’scommand, the students focused on their work.
Aarav walked to the back of the computer lab where his desk was. However, as he began to turn around, a student at the back table called out to him.
She said, "Sir, could you take a look at my computer?"
Aarav turned towards the voice of the student. She was wearing a black turtleneck sweater and had a mouth full of red lipstick. Her blonde hair was slicked back into a ponytail.
She pressed a key on the keyboard in front of her, with a red nail, and continued speaking, "Sir, there seems to be an issue with my keyboard. It's not working."
Aarav approached the table and stared hard at the students' computer keyboard and started to type. The computer's keyboard was working fine.
When Aarav saw it, he said, "It’s working completely fine for me with no issues. But you’re telling me that there is a problem?”
The female in her early twenties replied – " Sir, there was a problem before, but everything seems to be working now.”
When Aarav looked at her, he saw that there was somethingmischievous in her eyes. He put the keyboard in front of the student and while walking said, “Well, continue your work if it is working.”
As Aarav placed the keyboard back in front of her, the student suddenly said, "Sir, my name is “Rose”, and I came to study at university this year. I have classes every day at this time. What is your name?"
Aarav was somewhat frightened by the sudden question. He looked at the student and saw a curious glow in the student's eyes.
Aarav said, "I hope you’ll enjoy studying at the university Rose, the teachers here really care about what they are teaching."
After speaking,Aarav walked away. Though as soon as Aarav started walking, the student called out to him again; "Sir, what is your name?"
Aarav thought for some time and said, "Son, just continue to call me sir."
After she heard that, the student pulled a sour face and turned back to her work, after every few moments she would take a look towards Aarav, feeling disappointed.
Aarav was too busy with his work to notice.
When it was time for the university to close in the evening, Aarav picked up his bag and walked towards his home. He exited the university gates and walkedtowards his motorbike. The path to the university campus passed in front of the girls' hostel, so Aarav had to walk past there. When he passed in front of the girls' hostel, he saw the same student standing at the gate of the hostel who was talking to him in the computer lab, along with her friend and she had noticed Aarav too. Aarav looked back at herand started his motorcycle, hitting the accelerator on his motorbike to speed towards his house.
The next day when the university bell rang, Aaravwas arriving at the computer lab for his class.
After entering the lab, everyone stood up and greeted Aaravwith good morning. Aarav reciprocated the greeting, and everyone sat down in front of their computers.
Aaravspoke to the class; “Computer science pioneers, today we will learn about computer language used for programming and creating programs. Though there are many languages, today we will focus on 'C Plus Plus'."
"Please come closer to me andtake a look at what I have to show you. First, I will demonstrate a program for you to compile and run. If you have any questions, feel free to ask me."
Aarav sat at a computer in front of the class, picked up the keyboard, and began writing the C Plus Plus commands while opening some programs.
All the students in the lab moved their chairs and surrounded Aarav. They watched attentively as he wrote the program. Some students sat on the side while others were in front and behind.
When Aarav typed the program, he saved it on the computer, compiled it, and then demonstrated how to run it. Suddenly, Aarav was distracted when a student raised her hand from behind him and said, "Sir, I have a question."
Aarav turned around and replied, "Please go ahead and ask." Upon looking, he recognized the student, Rose, who had introduced herself to him in the computer lab the day before.
Aarav - "What do you want to ask?"
Rose - "Sir, I want to ask which button on the keyboard you compiled this program with, and which button you used to run the program?"
Aarav- "Yes, that's what I'll tell you."
After hearing his response, she sat down. Aarav pointed at the computer monitor towards all the students and said, "After typing the program, we will use the computer's ALT + F9 to compile the program, and then we will run it using the keyboard's F9 button. Everyone can try practising this."
After his command, Aarav stood up from his computer. All the students picked up their chairs and went to the computer to start practicing. Aarav began walking around the lab.
As Aarav walked through the lab, Rose called out to him from her computer again, "Sir, I am not able to run this program, can you please help?"
Aarav turned around and looked at the computer. He grabbed the mouse and tried to move the cursor to the program line, but the mouse got stuck and wouldn’t move. When Rose saw his hand, she placed her hand on top of Aarav’s hand and started moving the mouse underneath him.
Aarav was surprised by this sudden gesture, but when he looked at Rose's face. She smiled and continued to move the mouse with her hand placed on top of Aarav's.
Aarav, a little surprised by her actions, removed his hand from under her hand and said, "Just restart the computer, it should work fine."
Aarav then walked back to his desk at a quick pace to continue his work. He was surprised by the incident, But Rose, was still smiling at Aarav. She seemed pleased with her little prank.
The next day when university lecturesstarted,Aarav reached the computer lab. Most of the students had already arrived, so he did a lecture on language lab projects on his computer for the students. He compiled a program and saved it while it was running.
Aarav said - "Find this project on your computer, compile it and then run it. If anyone has any objection or problems, then come to me and ask me." After the students heard this, they were ready to work on their project work.
Aarav hadperformed a great lecture, he rose from his seat and walked towards the door of the lab to get some air. The students were finally quiet and engrossed in their work and Aarav finally found a moment for himself.
When Aarav reached the back of the computer lab, close to where Rose’s desk, he noticed her sittingin front of her computer working on the project, Aarav passed by her, moving anxiously past her figure, she called out to him in a quiet murmur- "Sir, I want to ask you something?"
Aarav’s ears perked at the sound ofRose's voice, but he ignored it, still frightened by the incident between them on the first day. He didn't want to talk to her about anything, so he went ahead with the tasks he had and made himself forget that she had called out to him.
But as soon as Aarav sat at his desk, Rosehad already decided to disobey his wishes, she looked at him and called out loudly - "Sir, I have to ask you something."
Aarav heard Rose's voice, he looked at her once butdecided again not to answer her and walked out of the lab, looking behind at Rose with a bitter stare. He retreated to sit in his office. Aarav wondered if the students noticed his erratic behavior, Rose must have realized that Aarav was angry with how she actedyesterday, and he believed she knew that she should not have done that. But what could Rose do now? The moment had passed. Now she had to find a solution to convince Aaravto talk to her.
Rose stood up from her computer, walked through the lab, and paced towards Aarav’s office.
Without knocking, she opened the office door and said - "May I come in, sir?"
Aarav was sitting behind his computer doing some work. He looked at the door and saw Rose standing by the open door.
He looked at Rose with angry eyes and then said - "Yes, come in, tell me what you do you want to say?"
When Rose heard this, she wentfurther inside his office, so that everything was visible from the glass around the office.
Rose stood in front of Aarav sitting in the cabin, bowing her head down, she spoke quietly - "Sorry, sir. I made a mistake. I should not have done this to you."
When Aarav heard this, he remained silent for a while, then replied- "Look, you people have come here to study, so pay attention to your studies and make your parents proud. As a teacher, I am here to help you, if there is any problem, you can come and ask at any time. But I must tell you that this kind of awkward behavior does not suit you, you should be more mature and think about your reputation.”
Aaravlooked up at Rose as he said this. Rosestood like a stone statue, her slanted eyes accepting her responsibility in her crime.
Aaravnoticed that Rose's guilt was genuine, as he looked at her, he said, "No problem, take care of yourself in future Rose, you are your own responsibility. You should go back to the lab and do your work, ok?"
Rosenodded her head, noting that Aarav had forgiven her. She started to rid herself of the nerves in her mind.
She raised her drooping eyelids at him again and said, "But sir, I still have something to ask you, you have to come and see on my computer."
Aarav looked at Rose, he felt something as their eyes connected and he felt guilty in ways for feeling it.
Aarav said, "Okay, you go back to your computer, and I will come and see what the problem is."
When Rose heard this, she felt excited, she turned around and walked out of Aarav’s office and back to the computer lab. Rose distracted herself by doing some work on the keyboard. She wanted to look natural when Aarav came back. When Aaravsaw her computer, he stood behind her back in front of her desk.
Rose, sitting on the computer, told Aarav about her problems and in response, Aarav gave the computer commands using the keyboard and ran the program. The program started running correctly.
Aarav peeked at Rose’s face, which blossomed like a flower as she smiled. She said, "Thank you, sir."
Aarav also looked at her big eyes, which had long eyelashes covered in coats of mascara. Although they had had their differences before, everything felt resolved, and they were basked in a glow of happiness.
Aaravlooked into Rose’s eyes and then turned to walk back towards his desk located at the back of the lecture room.
Rose looked very happy. Her heart was smiling with happiness, and she was beaming with joy. She continued working on her computer.
Around 4:00 O'clock in the evening. As Aarav sat behind his computer, working, andpreparing to go home.
Aarav’s office door suddenly opened, and Aarav saw Rose coming with her friend. After opening the door, Rose…asked, "May I come in, sir?"
When Aarav heard this, he nodded in agreement. Both friends stood beforeAarav's table, holding a letter that looked like an invitation card. Both of the students wore casual dresses, T-shirts, and trousers. They seemed they have come from the girls' hostel.
When they entered, Aarav looked them up and down and Rose said, "Sir, we have come to invite you to the freshers party tomorrow, and you must come." Rose extended her hand towards Aarav with the invitation letter showing in the palm of her hand.
When Aarav saw the invitation letter, he took it with a few frowns, opened it, and said, "This only says my name.”
Rose replied, "Yes sir, I’m giving you the invitation."
Aarav shook his head, replying, "If you are giving an invitation letter to people in a department, then it should include the name of everyone in the department. Not just me."
Aaravreturned the invitation card to Rose.
After Rose took the card, she began writing more names onto the invitation letter.
After writing, she offered the invitation letter to Aarav again. Aarav took it and placed it on the table.
Rose, with bright eyes and a brighter smile, said, "Sir, you must come to see my 'Kathak Dance' performance. You must see how hard I’ve been practicing for my dance program.”
Aarav responded with a smile, "Yes, I will definitely come to see your dance."
After hearing this, Rose smiled and walked out of the cabin with her friend Himani.
At that moment, it felt as if she had come to offer offerings to the temple of Lord Kirshna ji, and the Kirshna ji had accepted her prasad with his own hands.
With a joyful heart, Rose went towards the girls' hostel with her friend Himani.
The Next day, the college's main fresher party was held in the hall. At that time, some old students and some new students were managing the party together.
Aarav also joined the party. When he reached the hall, he saw many chairs, with special chairs arranged near the stage for seating.
Aarav was looking for a place to sit when he was startled by a sudden voice from behind.
"Sir, there is a seat for you, please sit on it."
Aarav turned and saw Rose standing there. She was wearing all white pearl clothing, a dhoti dress and a blouse with white pearl embroidery on top. She had a few white flowers in her hair and mascara on her eyelashes, enhancing her beauty. She was chirping around with excitement like a young deer.
After looking at Rose from head to toeAarav asked, "Tell me where to sit?"
Rose replied, "Sir, over there on the chair in front of the stage. You have to sit there." She pointed her finger in the direction.
Aarav started walking towards the chair, but suddenly Rose stood in front of him, waving her dress in the air with both hands. She smiled and asked Aarav, "Sir, how does my dress look?"
"It looks good," Aarav replied, moving towards the chair.
After that Aarav approached the chair, but Rose who was coming behind him, suddenly took his arm for support and guided him.
"Come on, sir, I'll show you where to sit," she said, leading him towards the chair. Feeling Rose's touch, Aarav thought that she might want to touch him, but he followed her to the chair.
Arriving at the chair, Rose gestured with her hand and said, "Sir, you have to sit here." Aarav sat on the chair as Rose walked back to her changing room behind the stage.
Soon after, programs began on the front stage. Many groups of boys and girls performed dance and drama programs before leaving.
The announcer's voice began blaring through the speakers, saying, "Now you will see a Kathak Dance performance from a first-year student."
After this, classical music blared from the stage. Aarav sawRose performing her dance from the right side of the stage. At the time, music played on the stage and Rose was performing her dance while joining the rhythm of it.
Her expressions and gestures seemed that she had reached some supernatural world, displaying her expressions with both her feet and hands, rising feet matching the music. The rhythms were forming and she was striving to make her performance the best. Her eyes were revealing her emotions.
Rose continued her art for a long time. When the music stopped, her program ended. As soon as Rose's program ended, all the students and people present greeted her with applause. She acknowledged everyone's greetings with folded hands as she left the stage.
After this, the prize distribution program for all the participants started on the stage. After the announcements, the principal distributed prizes to everyone who won the talent show.
In the end, the principal announced that the first prize would go to the participant who impressed everyone with their performance and whose art reflected the culture of the country.
The principal then says, "Rose," calling out her name. Rose, who was waiting behind the stage, heard her name, rushed forward, and received the award from the principal.
She looked very happy and proud of herself, her performance and dance. After taking the award, she greeted everyone on the stage and finallymoved back to the back of the stage.
The next morning, when University started, Rose arrived at the college with the trophy she had won in first place.
Aarav was sitting in his cabin, working. When there was a knock on the door, Aarav looked at the door and saw Rose standing with the trophy in her hand. "I have come to see you, sir."
When Aarav heard this, he nodded in agreement. Rose entered with the trophy in her hand and stood up, extending the trophy towards Aarav with both hands, she said - "Sir, look, I won the trophy for my 'Kathak Dance' and won first place."
"Wow...! I saw it, I was there."
Aarav took the trophy and looked at it. Then, extending the trophy towards Rose with his hands, he said - "Congratulations! You danced well. Keep working hard."
Rose replied - "Thank you, sir," taking the trophy in her hand and smiling. Rose held the trophy and looked at Aarav. Aarav also got busy with his work.
During lunchtime, Aarav and his friend, Debu Bhandari, arrived at the college canteen. Many students had gathered at the canteen, some were eating lunch, while others were sharing photos from the fresher party. Aarav and Debu sat at an empty table in the corner of the canteen.
Aarav asked - "Debu, what would you like to have for lunch?"
Before Debu could respond, a feminine voice was heard from behind, saying - "Sir, come, I am throwing a party for winning first prize yesterday."
Aarav turned and saw Rose standing in front of him. He had a plate in his hand in which some rasgullas (sweets) and gulabjamun (sweets) were kept.
"Take it, sir. This is for you," Rose said while extending the plate with both hands towards Aarav.
When Aarav saw the plate in Rose's hands moving towards him, he took the plate in his hands and put it down on the tabe.
Aarav was about to start eating when Debu sat in front of him, smiling, he said while sipping. "What's the point, Aarav Ji? "No one is even asking us for bitter samosas, and the nymphs themselves are coming from the front of you and offering sweets with both hands," said Debu.
At this, Aarav said with a smile, "Oh, it’s nothing like that. The day before they came to the department with invitation cards. Yesterday those people had a dance program, and that is why they are inviting everyone to a party today.”
"No one invited us to the party, nor did anyone tell us about the party," said Debu, pulling the plate of rasgulla towards himself, feeling jealous of being left out.
"Hey brother, the invitation letter came to the office and everyone's name is written on it, your name was also written. It’s on the table in the office if you want to go and see it," Aarav explained.
"I just want to test this plate of rasgullas now," said Debu with a smile, eager to taste the rasgullas.
Both friends laughed at this and began tasting the rasgullas.
The canteen boy came and offered two samosas. Aarav said, "Come on, this is another party of yours from my side."
Next day Aarav was working in his office. All his colleagues were sitting there, Aarav was also working on projects on his computer. Mirrors were present in the entire department's cabin, through which the computer lab and people from all around could be seen.
Suddenly, Debu, standing nearby and looking at the computer lab from the mirror, said while sipping coffee, to another friend Mayank sitting nearby, "Hey Mayank, look at that girl who just started in the first year, she was feeding Rosogolla to ManAarav ji yesterday."
(All the colleagues in the computer department used to call Aarav ManAarav ji in a funny manner.)
When Mayank listened to Debu, he eagerly stood up and started observing Rose sitting in the lab with Debu. Aarav was still working on his computer and didn't pay attention to either of them.
After Debu's remark, Mayank smiled and looked at Aarav sitting nearby, saying, "ManAarav ji, when will you take us to have eaten Rasgulla from the hands of Angels?"
Aarav remained silent and ignored the matter. Mayank then called out to Aarav, saying, "Hey sir, I am asking you."
Finally,Aarav spoke, he said, "Hey brother, it’s nothing like that. I went to the canteen with Debu for lunch. They were having a small celebration and that's why they offered us sweets too."
"We don't believe you," Mayank said while sipping and extracting more details from the conversation. Debu also agreed with Mayank, nodding yes and saying, "Yes brother, you are right. No one asked me there."
The two friends laughed again.
When Aarav heard this, he said, "Hey brother, there is nothing going on like what you are thinking. I simply went for lunch."
"Brother, we would like to have such a lunch every day, where the ladies feed sweets with their hands," said Debu, laughing, adding more juice to the talk. Hearing this, both friends started laughing loudly.
Aaravfinally joined in laughing in and then continued with his work. Suddenly, Mayank pointed out, "Hey look Debu, that girl is coming here."
When Debu heard this, he looked curiously in the direction of the mirror and exclaimed, "Oh yes, she's coming here!" Rose walked from the computer lab and came to the cabin. She opened the door and asked, "May I come in, sir?"
Debu and Mayank saw Rose at the door and replied, "Yes, come in." Rose entered and stood near the door, facing Mayank and Debu, she said to Aarav, "Sir, that program is not compiling on my computer."
Becoming impatient, Mayank replied, "Let me see," and stood up from the chair. Debu was silent and listened intently. Rose continued, "No sir, the program I am running was taught by him, it is a program made by him."
She pointed her finger at Aarav, who was sitting at the computer. Mayank interjected, with a naughty smile; "Girl... His name is Aarav."
Debumimicked Manyak’s smile and said, "Go brother ManAarav Sahib, get the girls program running and come back." Mayank showed his teeth in response.
Aarva watched them, in what appeared to be a playful mood. Finally deciding to end the matter, Aarav said to Rose, "You go to the lab, I'll come and see the problem."
Upon hearing this, Rose opened the door and went back to the computer lab. After a while, Aarav got up from his chair and walked towards the lab.
