In 2022, I authored The Vinyl Book, and within a swift six months, the entire print run was gone. But The Vinyl Book is far more than a mere publication—it is an encyclopaedia, a guidebook, a memoir, and a flowing river of interviews with the great minds of the vinyl world. It is, in many ways, a work of science fiction as well.
There is no other book like it on the market today. It not only traces the storied history of the vinyl record and charts the evolution of the music industry, but it also captures the profound passion for music that resonates in the millions of vinyl records sold across the globe. It offers an insightful gaze into sound and music culture, as perceived through the lenses of its most dedicated activists—collectors, artists, producers, and engineers.
Yet The Vinyl Book also dares to peer into the future. It contemplates what lies ahead in a world where digital and ‘phigital’ realms collide. What comes next?
Now, I seek collaborators—those who are willing to join me in forming an editorial DAO to craft Vinyl Book II on a global scale. Together, we can forge a comprehensive compendium on vinyl and music, and collectively raise the funds necessary to see it printed on paper.
