-How to grip a needle

Rod needle weaving is done using 2, 4, or 5 rod needles.

There are two weaving methods

1. Use 2 bar needles (or wheel needles/snake needles) to weave a row, then reverse and weave back and forth. This is called flat knitting.

2. Use 4 or 5 needles (or wheel needles/snake needles) to weave upwards in a circular pattern, which is called ring weaving. Ring weaving is commonly used to weave hats, gloves, socks, etc.

How to handle needles and threads

There are two types:

1. French style hanging line on the left hand

2. American style wire hanging on the right hand

注意:起针时，线端(毛线头)要预留完成尺寸的三倍长度，例如:起针/ 脚是十寸阔，那么线端要预留三十寸长来起针。

常用有 3种:

1.使用棒针及用手指与原线起针

可编成”平织/平编起针法”、"弹性起针法之1目松紧起针法”"弹性起针法之2 目松紧编织起针法"及"多行弹性起针法(袋编)之1目/2 目松紧编织起针法”。

4. Use a bar needle and a locking needle to start the needle (then weave a 1-turn elastic foot needle and locking needle)

Using a needle with a stick and a finger to start the thread:
