Liam was a very fearful child from an early age. He was terrified of the dark, of seeing blood, he was claustrophobic, he was afraid of heights, death and humiliation. He was always serious, did not converse with anyone and had very few friends, if any. This personality caused him to suffer bullying at school, in the neighborhood and even at home. Unfortunately his mother had passed away and he only lived with his sister Samantha and his stepfather James, who didn't love them at all.
One day on his way home from school he falls down a manhole that some careless builders had left open after leaving for lunch. Liam screams in desperation but no one hears him, and he decides to walk through the tunnels to see if he can find another way out. He takes out of his backpack the flashlight that always accompanies him even when he sleeps.
As he walks back and forth, he stumbles over what he thinks is a stone, but when he focuses the light on it, it is an old book, full of spider webs and dust. He bends down and picks it up. A cold air begins to circulate through the tunnel, removing the dirt from the book and obscuring Liam's vision as if it were a fog. When the whole picture was finally clear, his skin crawled when he read the title: "Here your fears die". His mouth went dry and in fright he tried to swallow saliva. With a lump in his throat he didn't know what to do with it in his hand.
Slowly and cautiously he opened the book and began to read the first pages. The fear wanted to kill him but it was so much curiosity that kept him alive. It was a book where the owner described his fears but from the suffering of other people. This made him laugh, just that, it made him laugh. This feeling of enjoyment he had never felt before. He settled down on the floor and began to read.
Stories of suffering and terror, where the victims faced their worst fears were described in detail. There was no room for censorship or compassion. Cases of mutilation, tragic accidents and unforeseen events. That book was a whole manual or plan to apply when it came to revenge, but so that it would always remain in "writing". Something like a book of relief, and so much so that there were blank pages left and that is when Liam says: - Now my stories begin - He takes out a pen and begins to write...
Oliver was a very funny man, sometimes too funny. He took nothing seriously. He was a neighbor of Liam's family and that day he was fixing the garden of his house. Samantha, worried about her brother who had not arrived, asked him if he had seen him, to which Oliver answered her: - He's probably hiding from the cockroaches- She was not amused and went into the house. Uncontrollable laughter and abundant laughter did not stop Oliver from expressing but the beauty of a flower that was on the roof of the house became the target of his gaze. In his subconscious a voice was telling him: "Do you want it for your garden? It was familiar to him, but he did not emphasize where it came from. Quickly he looked for the ladder and climbed up to take it, but the voice again told him: "If you can't fly like a cockroach, here is your way to die". Now he recognized it, before it was only crying and wailing, pleading for him, but now that sure voice was playing a trick on him, Oliver said: "Liam nooo, is that you? - He slipped and fell precipitously to the ground where a rake pierced his body.
With the roar, the neighbors quickly went out and called the emergency services and tried to give him first aid, but to no avail. Samantha, seeing what happened, says: "If my brother saw this, he wouldn't believe what happened." She takes the house keys and goes to the pool where Liam should be taking his lessons at that time.
In the pool were all the students as usual, getting ready to go home, because the lesson was over. Noah, Liam's main enemy, when he saw Samantha, asked her where she was that she had not shown up. He didn't believe that lowering her chort in public was a reason to miss the class, and starts to laugh. Samantha, disconcerted, is paralyzed; she hasn't seen her brother since the morning and goes to the bleachers.
A mysterious whisper appears in Noah's ears and tells him: "I'm not me, but I'm me, I'm his other self, do you know how to swim", Noah says "eehh? what? Liam? and out of fright he falls into the pool. His arms and feet don't respond, he starts to scream but they don't hear him, the opening of his mouth only gives space for the water of the pool to enter his body uncontrollably until he is completely full. The trainer in an act of pure chance looks into the pool and sees at the bottom something he cannot identify. He dives in without thinking and manages to pull it out, with a lot of sadness in his eyes, it was too late. Samantha from the stands sees that tragic rescue and says again: "If my brother saw this, he wouldn't believe what happened".
In a moment of analysis Samantha notices that two of the people her brother hates the most have died in a very strange way. Too much coincidence so she runs to her house, because James was her stepfather and she was afraid that something happened to him too. He used to call Liam a wimp, he was a person who speculated a lot about his strength.
When James arrives home, he is doing exercises. Samantha explains everything that has happened and tells him that his brother is missing. Happiness is drawn by itself on James' face and he lies down on the bench press to continue doing exercises. When he goes for repetition number eight, a voice tells him: "Don't worry, I'll make sure you keep on having a big smile", and the weights fall into James' mouth...
Liam heard voices in the distance. The builders had returned and were about to close the sewer. The boy stops writing and closes the book heading for the exit in a hurry. Arriving home, Liam finds an ambulance and his sister crying inconsolably. Samantha angrily asks him where he has been, to which Liam responds, "Look what I found! -and shows her the book with the cover close to his face: "Here die your fears", but when he looks at the back it says: "To make them come true".
