Veles is a Slavic werewolf god, sage god, patron of the arts, lord of witchcraft, son of the cow Zemun. According to legend Veles was the only god of all the Yasuns and Dasuns who knew both the powers of Light and the powers of Darkness equally. The legend that tells about the birth of Veles says that one day Lada , goddess of love and wife Svaroga, caught a magic pike in the Sour Cream Lake, which is located in the heavenly garden of Iria. Lada cooked a pike and ate it, and threw the bones into the field. Soon, the heavenly cow Zemun, walking through the field, came across the bones of a magic pike and ate them. Some people call Veles "the beast god," although this is only partially true. The fact is that according to one of the legends, when darkness fell on the Real world for several centuries, people lost all their cattle. For many years Veles roamed the world, teaching people all kinds of arts and crafts, and some – and the secret knowledge of the gods.
