In 2022, to support and encourage young writers to create, Wang Meng donated his personal contribution and established a special fund for the development of Wang Meng's youth literature at the Chinese Literature Foundation. After the establishment of this fund, it was operated by the Chinese Writers Association and supported and encouraged by selecting several young writers under the age of 40 each year. As of now, the "Wang Meng Youth Writer Support Program · Annual Selected Writers" has been held twice, and six writers (Sun Bin, Zheng Zaihuan, Du Lan, Xue Chaowei, Datouma, and San San) have been selected. When asked why we need to help young writers? Wang Meng's idea is very simple: "I will not forget the immaturity and hardship of learning writing more than 70 years ago. I will always be grateful for the help and guidance of the older generation of mentors such as Xiao Yin and Wei Junyi. When I was already old, I should do my little to support a new generation."
