Whenever you wonder why Night and Day exists, there's a scientific answer to it that's been accepted and written in books. But, does this reality even mean anything? Are there other worlds or other cosmos?

The thing with Aesor is that night and day exists but not because of science like how it's taught to us. In Aesor, night and day is a result of war and is still an ongoing war of strength and fortitude.

I left off with a hanging statement about Scions on the previous written work connected to this one that I posted. So, let me continue on it here and take you back to a world before Aesor.

The third Idolon found the Heart of the Myst and used it to end Vals and Heis, in the hopes of catalyzing cosmic progress. Vals casted a huge shadow to cover Haeis before they got obliterated hoping something will have results from that.

So, what actually are Scions and how were they born into existence?

As I have previously mentioned, Anything can be eradicated, pulverised, or grounded to ashes but they do not completely disappear from existence. From the remnants of Radiance and Shadow, emerged the true descendants of the two late Idolons; the Scions. Both of these scions were born from the pure remnants of Haeis and Vals -their children.

Because there is more darkness than light, the Myst transformed into Shadow being the majority of it, with only Stars as tiny sources of Radiance that illuminate the vast darkness. That is why the appearance of the universe resulted to a vast dark void with twinkling stars as light source.

The Scions of Vals thrived and emerged from the Shadow and the vast void that dominated the Myst, while the Scions of Haeis broke out from the bright shimmering stars. As Idolons are far off lost and gone, these species replaced them as the literal Gods of the Myst. These cosmic dragons of brilliant energy or unfathomable shadow are the first species of intent to ever appear in this new universe. Scions are the first immortal beings there is of existence and, like their parents as you guessed, they also began killing each other in order to obtain the Heart of the Myst, a power left behind by the third Idolon.

Since shadow dominated the Myst, the Scions of Haeis were unable to produce more Scions to fight the opposite Scions that wanted to engulf them. On the other hand, the Scions of Vals thrived and became very powerful due to the nature they nurtured in the Myst. The Scions fought by blasting each other with their elemental breaths/energies. Literal Radiance and Shadow that would effect the opposite. Also by rending flesh with "claws and teeth ''. Haeis Scions are naturally bigger and stronger. Vals Scions are smaller and faster, but they also cannibalize each other to grow. The stronger shadow adds the weaker shadows to its own mass. It was through this process that the Scion Arizen rose as an enormous dominating personality and leader amongst the shadow. The larger the shadow, the easier for it to swallow the light.

As the war went on, the Scions of Haeis started losing hope on protecting the Heart of the Myst from the Scions of Vals. There were a small number of them compared to the shadows. Then, something huge happened that made them think twice about losing all hope. As the balance was so much scaled down at one end, the Myst birthed a Hero to represent Haeis and to illuminate and pierce through the shadows.

This occurrence opted to rebalance the two dominating elements of the Myst. This hero was then named Scion Kyro. As the war went on, Kyro was the last Radiant guarding the heart when the Shadow finally grasped it. Kyro obliterated the small shadow that dislodged the heart from its place, when Arizen then wrestled with Kyro for control of the heart. Kyro flew into a star trying to burn the shadow off her, and by circumstance Kalzamaath was born. A very unique Scion that held the 5 elements present in the Myst.

The story of the Scionic Wars is taught very early on Aesor’s Tome of the Kingdom, and is one of the few Mystic histories that can be verified as true through one's own eyes. Simply by looking up at the night sky, any being in Aesor can confirm this. The existence of night time has been always allotted to the Scions of Vals, this happens because Kalzamaath needed to take brief breaks in between channeling all his power and energy to protect Aesor even more, this energy he used to protect Aesor from the clutches of darkness, brightens up the world to a very huge extent, essentially resulting in daylight.

When night time comes, the barrier that the Shattered Light emit weakens, and if someone has heightened perception, they would witness that the Scions of Vals are in full force attempting to break through the barrier with the intent to dominate the world. Night time in Aesor looks like a canvas painted pitch black where you see nothing but shadows and darkness, but sometimes a faint glowing swirl appears on the shield. The faint swirls in the shield that glows in the night sky are the released energies from the damaged Shattered Light being continuously struck by Scions of Vals hoping that one day their attacks would leave a crack on the Shattered Light where they could start breaking through to start their quest for world domination.

These had been proof of the story of the Paragons and the Songs of the Scions about the Scionic Wars and Aesor's importance in the Myst. And at this rate, no one can deny the fact that the Scions of Haeis indeed lost tragically in the Scionic Wars. Apart from a few hundred or thousand unhatching stars across the Myst, darkness engulfs everything in it with Aesor in the middle as the only hope for restoring balance.

But how long will this continue and will the balance ever be restored in the far future? That, we are all not sure of but the fateseekers and scholars would always be on the lookout of what may unfold in the future. In the meantime, as life has thrived in Aesor, and instead of worrying about the uncertainty of the future of the world, let us try to get a glimpse of what actually is in Aesor and how is life lived there may it be by race and people as a whole, or through individual people's life stories.

This concludes Before the Dawn of the Shattered Light. I suggest you go forth and read "At the Dawning of the Shattered Light" by The Lost Prince to continue on with your journey to the Land of Aesor.
