The world… it didn't feel like it was spinning around him. It was truly spinning, and Aaron could see it. The movement, the shape, and the strings attached to it.

Opening his eyes briefly, Aaron wore a smile. A smile of hate as the chants began again.

Read, read, read. The words chanted loudly in his head as he held his ears tightly and closed his eyes to drown out the words. He doesn't need to ask anyone why the words never cease to echo in his head. He knew exactly why, and that made him grimace.

As the only child to his parents, Aaron lived his life dedicated to books, and why wouldn't he? His parents are extremist professors, and he has to continue their so-called lineage even when he despises everything about it.

A child must be respectful and listen to his parents.

That was exactly how his dad spelt it out for him anytime he became stubborn and gargled at the smell of old books. It makes no sense that he would have to smell each book with great pleasure.

Actually, it does make sense, though not to him but to the two crazy beings that gave birth to him. Through his childhood, Aaron had watched them inhaling old books with great pleasurable glint in their eyes and his younger self had been curious and had tried it only to find out the smell wasn't to his taste nor were books.

”But it doesn't matter what I want.” He spoke in a whisper as he drowned himself more in his thoughts of past events.

With no choice and no one to back him up on what he truly wanted in life, Aaron listened, and that led him into a white, fully booked room with no window which had brought out the madness in him. His parents made sure that books were brought to him in the psychiatric home he was kept in, and it irked him, knowing it was what brought him here.

Strange writings and symbols filled the white wall in the red quill he used to write or highlight words and in something redder. His blood and they all gave a meaningful smell with the smell of old books.

Books! The smell, the presence, and the thoughts infuriates his soul

"Book, book, book, is that all they think about?" He questioned the air around him, and then he chuckled. He chuckled so loudly that he felt the white wall vibrate around him, and he couldn't care less.

He needed no one to answer him as he knew the answer to his questions. He knew well from who he came from and the path that had been mapped out for him, which no circumstances can pull him out of. And that is exactly how he got trapped.

Letting out a deep sigh, Aaron held his head tightly as flashes of the dreadful night filled his soul. He couldn't forget what led him into this hell as he wished he were in a cell to pay for his crimes rather than into the place his parents and lawyer decided he should be in.

”Faggots!” He spat angrily, moving his eye brow upward.

Heaven knows he tried hard to get into jail. His mind was made up on what to do as he got prepared for court. But his parents had their ways. He was sure he was fine before he went to court with the intention to scream out;

"I am guilty!" But that didn't happen as sleep enveloped him in the courtroom. No matter how hard he tried to fight off the sleep, he never won and before he realized what was happening, his chest tightened and he ended up falling, which got him some pity remarks from people with the reason he was in court almost forgotten and he hated that.

At the end of the court procession, it was said that he had some brain issues and should be taken to a psychiatric home for treatment instead of jail where he is supposed to be in. Now, he is left with his two-sided mind; one who has a sense of humanity and the other who is more interested in books and would rather drown himself in more of it.

His mind flashed back and forth in a trance as his heart replayed that insane moment again like he was watching a movie with a remote he couldn't control. The world as he knew it changed as he was brought forth to the moment that doomed him again like he had traveled back to that moment.

For a moment or so, Aaron couldn't believe his eyes as he could feel the realness of the world he was in, and all reasonings were lost.

”Impossible!” he blurted out as he watched over the event taking place.

One minute people shook hands with him to congratulate him on his recent achievement which was the purpose of the occasion and the next minute he was in his car ready to get away from people's touch only to get a call from his parents on the next book he should work on and the next thing…

"Gbam!!!" His car screeched as he turned the steering to the left, but the deed had already been done.

With a shaky breath, Aaron stepped out of his car to be met with a red liquid, almost touching his fine black shoe. With eyes wide open, he saw the body of a lady on the floor before everything could register into his brain that he had hit someone with his car.

A young, fine woman lost her life that day because he didn't concentrate while driving. Only if he didn't pick up the call. If only he had ignored their calls at that moment, they would have punished him as usual, which he could endure, and it would have been better. It's far better than having someone killed.

Grinding his teeth loudly, Aaron punched the wall beside him with every strength he could muster up.

A deep laugh resonated through him as he stared at his body with disgust.

One could hardly believe he is in his late twenties, seeing how his parents have made it their right to tell him how to live, but not anymore. He has seen how other children were trained even when their parents were scholars, and being in the psychiatric home has opened his eyes to lots of things.

Placing his hands on the wall tightly, he scratched his hands fingers on it while seething his teeth aggressively.

Blowing steam off through his mouth, he made a vow to live his life rightly away from his parents' stare when he gets out of the psychiatric home he is kept in.

“Very soon, very soon, Aaron. You'll be let free. Just be calm.” He said calmly before closing his eyes.
