Bangladesh is a South Asian country located on the Bay of Bengal. It is bordered by India to the west, north, and east, and by Myanmar to the southeast. The country is made up of eight divisions, 64 districts, and 495 subdistricts.

Bangladesh is mainly a low-lying delta, but mountains separate it from Myanmar and parts of India. The country is marked by lush greenery and many waterways, including the Padma (Ganges), Meghna, and Jamuna rivers. The Sundarbans, a mangrove forest shared with Eastern India, is home to the royal Bengal tiger.
