Mercedes-Benz arose as a result of the merger of companies associated with the creation of the first cars. The main roots go back to 1886, when Karl Benz created the world's first gasoline-powered car, the Benz Patent-Motorwagen. In the 1890s, Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach developed their own cars, which also became the predecessors of Mercedes.

The name "Mercedes" refers to the daughter of businessman Emil Zelnek, who in 1901 introduced a new car model with this name. In 1926, Benz & Cie and Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft merged, resulting in the founding of the Mercedes-Benz brand.

Since then, the company has established itself as a premium car manufacturer, introducing innovations in the areas of safety and technology. Today, Mercedes-Benz is known for its luxury cars, sports models and advances in electric vehicles.
